How OTT platform are enlightening the Bahujan views!!

   “South Indian movies based on casteism, racism, feminism are expanding”

The theatre halls were full of action packed movies- no movie would clash with Khan’s, Kapoor’s, Kumar’s and Johar’s and these actors had  monopoly over the theatre screens. The movies with Dalit perspective, casteism were given no screens. Last superhit Marathi movie based on casteism was Sairat- and no movie could create a major significant before. Bollywood movies have same stories. Actions which have no respect in audience. Few south Indian movies like Kaala and Kabali have some impact but the major share was due to the actor Rajinikant. Other movies had no major role.

   The major role Over The Top (OTT) are playing are bringing best of actors. Not only actors like Nawazudin Siddique, Pankaj Tripathi etc have imperessed us with there acting- but the actors like Dhanush, Arya, Suriya, etc have major role. Even the movies are in local language the subtitle had helped to understand. No one would risk to go in theaters watch a movie which is not in the language they understand and spend hundreds of rupees. The OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime video, Sony LiV , etc have shown us the real cinematography. A person of North India living in Delhi won’t go in theathres to watch a movie like ‘Soorari Pottru’(Tamil Movie) even if the movie had IMDb rating of 9.1 just because he can’t understand the language.

   The movies based on racism, casteism like Karnan, Sarpatta Parambarai, Asuran have gained traction. The movie shows the struggles of Bahujans and Dalits in the society. The movie also shows the struggle of Adivasis. Online Streaming platforms are the future of revolution for lower caste. The caste issues, administrative issues which a lower caste suffers have been telecasted. Like in a movie Asuran- Dalit people have been beaten for wearing chappal and sandals, the movie also shows the importance of education for Dalits and Tribals. Whereas the movie Karnan shows the struggle to catch a bus and rivalry between two villages. These issues are prevalent. A person sitting in Delhi, Mumbai or Banglore doesn’t even know these problems exist. The OTT platform shows the rural India. The movie which is creating a buzz is ‘Jai Bhim’ by actor-producer Suriya, as a lawyer.

 The movies like these wil help in emaniciaption of Dalits. OTT will be the new revolution ground. The modern days and enlightening ideas are spread to the masses. The South India majorly Tamil Nadu, Kerala the directors and actors have taken the intiative to show the struggles and spread around the masses. The wait is for North India states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand where caste is major issue. The movies telecasted on OTT would help the lower caste people from these states to see the injustice and struggles, because caste is a national issue. The world is watching the movies and it is time to see, analyse, introspect the wrong and evil.

   The OTT platforms would help to  spread the idea of social justice, freedom of speech, equality and fights against Brahmanism ideologies and will also help women to fight against the Patriachal society. The new era of Cinematography, astist and directors is emerging and the era of Bacchan’s, Johar’s, Khan’s is declining. OTT will also do justice to all movies as small budget movies couldn’t compete against big budget on Theathre and multiplexes. OTT would  telecast the rivers of traditions, emerging ideas, struggles and act against the old-age stagnant traditions which needs to be stopped.
